Flames ready to heat up Indiana
News from the upcoming USSSA World Series
Flames ready to heat up Indiana
Comprised of nine baseball-loving eleven-year olds, the players for the First Capital Flames have played together since early childhood in their local Scioto Valley Youth League. They have met challenges as a team and grown together, joining the 11-under USSSA organization as they sought a more advanced level of play. These young athletes had their work cut out for them, as USSSA plays with high school rules. They have risen to the occasion and are ready to put their home town group up against players and all-star squads from large cities.
With their second place finish at the 2009 Championship Challenge the Flames qualified for the 2009 USSSA World Series to be held in Columbus, Indiana (July 15-19). That has them extremely excited and revved up their game – so much so that they just added a state championship trophy to their trophy case (winning the 1st Annual Capital Cup).
The USSSA organization holds tournaments nationwide through the late spring and early summer months for many age groups and in many classes.
